How to configure Windows/MSN to use the Norton AntiVirus scanner

Follow the steps in each section to disable Instant Messenger scanning and then configure MSN messenger to use the Norton AntiVirus scanner to scan downloaded files.

STEP 2
  To disable Norton AntiVirus Instant Messenger scanning

Start Norton AntiVirus.
If Norton AntiVirus is part of Norton Internet Security or Norton SystemWorks, then start Norton Internet Security or Norton SystemWorks.

On the program interface, click Options.
If you see a menu, click Norton AntiVirus.

On the left side of the Norton AntiVirus Options screen, click Instant Messenger.

In "What instant messengers to protect," uncheck all of the items, and then click OK.

Restart the computer. Go to the next section.
STEP 3
  To configure Norton AntiVirus to work with the latest version of MSN Messenger
